Hey, I’m Gray.

I am a writer, cultural multimedia journalist, and digital content creator. I’m traditional when it comes to my preferred choice of media, as I am a lover of physical newspapers, magazines and the radio.

As a cultural journalist, I use my training in arts journalism, and my experience as a Black, queer woman in America, to theorize and critique all aspects of culture, focusing on pop culture and Black culture. My work is specific to race and identity, feminism/womanism and social justice. I also like to write about television, talk about politics and tweet about the news.

I’m from the water, the edge of America, Charleston, South Carolina. I am a proud HBCU grad, hailing from THE Johnson C. Smith University, home of the best sports management program in the south. When I’m not working, find me by the water, buying plants, or playing with my dog.

My most recent work can be found at wfae.org, where I covered the effects of COVID-19 on communities of color and race and equity.
